SHOUTcast Source DSP Plug-in v2 is an application marketed by the software company Nullsoft, Inc. Some users try to uninstall this application. Sometimes this can be troublesome because deleting this by hand takes some skill related to Windows program uninstallation. Nullsoft Tray Control Icon Pack is a tray control plugin for Winamp that brings new features. This installer contains sets which are available on the web. The installer has a nice preview feature for each icon pack and allows you even to configure the Tray Control plug-in.

To setup Winamp with ShoutCast you will need to use the DSP plugin which pretty easy stuff. The most common issue these days is just outdated Winamp or DSP plugin software. When ShoutCast is updated, or sc_trans is updated sometimes it will not work properly with older DSP plugins. So always be sure to use the most up to date versions.

You will need the below to setup Winamp with ShoutCast:

(these are the most recent as of Feb 5th 2015):
Download Winamp 5.6.6 or higher from here – http://winampplugins.co.uk/Winamp/ (usually you would go to winamp.com to get it but they were recently sold so the site is being redesigned and all confusing)
Download the DSP plugin for Winamp 5.6.6 or higher here – http://download.nullsoft.com/shoutcast/tools/ (this will only work on winamp 5.6 or higher)

1) Install Winamp
2) Install the DSP plugin
3) Open Winamp, and hit CTRL + P
4) Scroll down to plugins
5) click on DSP/Effect
6) On the right side in the box that pops up look for Nullsoft ShoutCast Source DSP 2.3.5 and click on it.
7) Click on configure active plugin (the button at the bottom)
8) Go through each tab putting in the details you wish, and the login information for the ShoutCast server you are connecting to. You may need to create a DJ account in your CastHost streaming dashboard if you have not already done so.

On the input tab in the settings for the DSP plugin you can either use your soundcard, or Winamp as the input device. This is useful if you don’t want to use Winamp to play the music, or you want to broadcast audio from a video, or you have some other cool way to DJ your music that you want to use but the software doesn’t have a way to stream to a ShoutCast server.

Shoutcast

Just ensure that when you broadcast with your soundcard as the input device that you turn off all system sounds as those will be broadcast as well when you are streaming from the soundcard. Can you imagine having a bunch of people listening to some rocking tunes, and then someone calls your Skype and it starts ringing over the air…it could happen. This is also a good way to take calls on your live broadcast, because the caller will be coming in through your soundcard. Agilent 16802a drivers download for windows 10, 8.1, 7, vista, xp. Nullsoft, Inc. was an American software house founded in Sedona, Arizona, in 1997 by Justin Frankel. Its products included the Winampmedia player and the SHOUTcastMP3streaming media server. In later years, their open source installer system, the Nullsoft Scriptable Install System (NSIS) became an alternative to commercial products like InstallShield. The company's name is a parody of Microsoft.[1]Mike the Llama is the company's mascot; this is frequently referred to in promotional material (especially for Winamp) citing llamas. Frankel introduced the llama in Winamp's startup sound clip, inspired by the lyrics of Wesley Willis: 'Winamp, it really whips the llama's ass!'[1]

Nullsoft was sold to AOL (formerly known as America Online) on June 1, 1999, and thereafter existed as a subsidiary of the company. After the acquisition, Nullsoft headquarters were moved to San Francisco, California. Their later developments included the Nullsoft Streaming Video (NSV) format, which was intended to stream media that used any audio or video codec. In 2002, the press reported a technology called Ultravox being developed by Nullsoft.[2] Nullsoft created the peer-to-peer networks Gnutella and WASTE.[1] Although AOL tried to limit the distribution of Gnutella and WASTE, the Ultravox technology was reportedly used for some AOL radio services in 2003.[3] A service called Nullsoft Television was announced in 2003 using NSV.[4]

Nullsoft released several new versions of the Winamp player and grew its monthly unique subscriber base from 33 million users to over 52 million users by 2005. Nullsoft's San Francisco offices were closed in December 2003, with a near-concurrent departure of Frankel and the original Winamp development team.[1][5] Nullsoft then became a division of AOL Music. In 2013, some AOL Music sites were shut down and others sold to Townsquare Media.[6][7][8]

In November 2013, an unofficial report surfaced that Microsoft was in talks with AOL to acquire Nullsoft.[9] On January 14, 2014, it was officially announced that Belgian online radio aggregator Radionomy had bought Winamp and Shoutcast, formerly owned by Nullsoft. No financial details were publicly announced.[10][11]
