(UPDATE: this release has been patched to 10.1.7-1902. This is a bug fix patch.)
Hello!
Today we are releasing Evernote for Windows 10.1 (v 10.1.4). With this release we are addressing some of the initial bugs we’ve seen in 10.0--particularly around crashes and stability. We also spent some time focusing on a spellcheck bug that was particularly problematic for Windows customers.
It is available now from the Windows App Store, or as a direct download version from our website. If you are already running the direct download version, you will see an automatic update sometime soon as we progressively roll out the update and do not need to take any action.
New:
- Create date (and time) is now editable from Note Info
- Sign in with Apple is now available at log in
- F2 keyboard shortcut is now available to trigger a rename action for:
- Notebooks when focused on a notebook in the notebook menu
- Stacks when focused on a stack
- Spaces that you have edit permissions on
- Tags when you are focused on the tag in the tag menu
- (Notes is coming soon and will also be supported by a future version)
- When left navigation menu sections are expanded, section headers are now sticky, making them easier to navigate
Fixed highlights:
- Internal note links created on the new Evernote, when copied from the editor as evernote:/// links, now take you to the destination note
- Spellcheck issues seen by some customers are now fixed and respects their OS language settings
- Copy image would sometimes not be available from the image’s right click menu
- Crash fixes, in particular for account switching particularly during switching between notebooks
- The first note in the note list was not properly selected when clicking a notebook from shortcuts
- Tag auto-suggestions would not appear after using the CTRL + ’ shortcut to jump to the tags footer
- Drag and dropping enex files to the note list now uses faster enex import functionality and loading UX
- Sketch and editor bug fixes
Coming soon:
Evernote 1012
- Write quick notes and clip screenshots with the Evernote Helper companion app (Windows - Right-click the Evernote icon in your system tray)
- Quickly search and move to different note using a keyboard shortcut (Windows - Ctrl+Q)
- Create new audio recordings and playback audio files
- Top list view (the same condensed view as side-list, but the list is on top)
Let us know what you think and we appreciate the continued feedback. We know we have a lot of work to do and will keep pushing. Thank you!
